Panama City Beach Spring Break

Panama City Beach, Fla. (March 20, 2007) - There's more to Spring Break than sun and sand for students in Panama City Beach, Fla. The top beach destination hosts such national sponsors this year as Neutrogena, the U.S. Army, Geico and Gillette to provide free events, contests and product giveaways. Additionally, live beachfront concerts featuring top bands promise to make 2007 College Spring Break the best year yet.

Corporate sponsors hope to capture the attention of the estimated 250,000 - 300,000 college spring breakers flocking to Panama City Beach during the six-week period that runs from early March to mid April. The destination has been a favorite spot for college students since the 1950s. "Award-winning beaches and first-rate parks, restaurants and accommodations make Panama City Beach a natural draw during spring break," says Bob Warren, president and CEO of the Panama City Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau.

'Sunset' event to include ocean and weather agency

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is partnering with the Waikiki Improvement Association to co-sponsor Sunset on the Beach, an outdoor family event, this weekend.

Sunset on the Beach will feature musical entertainment, a popular movie, and educational activities each evening. It is free and open to the public.

NOAA is hosting this event as part of the agency's yearlong celebration to commemorate its 200 years of science, service and stewardship to the nation.

NOAA's participation in the Great Hawaiian Folklife Festival recognizes the important role Hawaiian culture has played in preserving natural resources. The NOAA tent will showcase NOAA products and services available to the public in Hawai'i and the Pacific. Booths will also feature games and activities for the keiki, free handout materials and educational items.

I-NEWS ONLY: Wine, Food Festival Leaves Us Wanting More

Miami -- Being someone who loves food, getting a chance to review the Food Network South Beach Wine and Food Festival was a dream assignment.

On Sunday, I attended the American Express Grand Tasting event, which brought together the best South Florida restaurants and world-renowned makers of wines and spirits.

The event was held under two giant tents, set up right along the ocean on Miami Beach. .

South Beach Wine And Food Festival Wrap Up

Miami Beach, FL (AHN) - The annual South Beach Wine and Food Festival hosted by the Food Network closed its tents and served its last dish on Sunday. However, as a first-time participant to the event, I'm already looking forward to next year's recipes.

The four-day festival can credit bringing together the biggest names in the food industry and some of the most discerning palates. From meeting celebrity chefs to sampling dishes from world-renowned restaurants, visitors had a smorgasbord of activities centering around food and libations to satisfy even the pickiest connoisseurs.

Widely known chefs such as Bobby Flay, Nigella Lawson, David Chang and Norman Van Aken were on hand at the festival and inside the Publix Kitchen to lend expertise and samples of their dishes during seminars and book signings.

Sunshine and high spirits at the beach

Down on the beachfront in Santa Monica, the Independent Spirit Awards proved a relaxed affair as stars milled around in the Californian sunshine signing autographs and having their pictures taken with fans, before ducking into a tent for the big event.
