Racine County Wrestler of the Year: Steve Sanchez, Horlick

"He was fearless on the mat, as he accepted everything we asked him to do. As a coach, you can't ask for a nicer young man to be your captain and leader; who represents your values and morals of what you are trying to teach young people to be successful in life."Sanchez welcomed the chance to wrestle against the best."One of the things that was memorable was the competition I had this year was a lot tougher," Sanchez said. "I just remember doing really good against all this hard competition and it helped drive me to do better in my next matches. It was just a confidence builder, one on top of another."That confidence led Sanchez to a 38-3 record, including victories over Case's Kris Magruder and Muskego's Derrick Olsen, opponents Sanchez called his toughest."I've known Kris for years and years.
